Pilots at Allegiant Air, represented by Teamsters Local 2118, have announced plans to conduct a nationwide informational picket to bring attention to labor concerns. One of the locations for the picketing will be the Destin–Fort Walton Beach Airport. The event is scheduled for Tuesday as part of the pilots' efforts to pressure the airline to address ongoing contract disputes.

The pilots are urging Allegiant Air to end delays in contract negotiations and provide a fair agreement that ensures experienced pilots remain with the airline. According to the group, the current situation is creating challenges in retaining skilled personnel, which has become a central issue in the negotiations.

"These actions amount to continuous freeloading", said Smith.

The informational pickets aim to highlight these concerns publicly and bring further awareness to the pilots’ demands. Allegiant Air has yet to provide a response to the planned demonstration or the pilots’ claims.

This coordinated effort reflects a broader push within the airline industry for improved labor conditions, as pilots at various companies advocate for better contracts and working conditions. The picketing by Allegiant Air pilots underscores their stance on the importance of addressing these issues without further delays.
